Chimbu’s new police boss named

CHIMBU finally has a new permanent provincial police commander. He is Superintendent Jacob Sigura, a career officer.
Former provincial police commander acting Superintendent David Seine Junior formally handed over the command to Sigura on Friday in Kundiawa during a police parade.
Police divisional commander for Eastern End, Nema Mondia, who was present during the parade said Chimbus are fortunate to have a an experienced officer as police commander.
Mondia said Sigura is not new to the Highlands region. He was once a former commander of the Highlands mobile group based in
Mt Hagen, Western Highlands, before serving in New Ireland, Oro, and Madang.
Mondia said Sigura brings with him a wealth of experience
to maintain law and order in Chimbu.
He also farewell outgoing commander Seine Junior who would be taking up a new post as a provincial police commander for Eastern Highlands.
Mondia said that Seine and Sigura were experienced officers and and he had trust and confidence in them to do the job well.
He said policemen and women of the two provinces should support their their new commander.
