A CHINESE construction company has donated K10,000 to the Kavieng General Hospital in New Ireland.
PNG CJ Construction made the donation during a visiting Chinese medical team’s farewell dinner. New Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan thanked the company for the support which would benefit the people in the province.
Sir Julius hailed the company for sponsoring the first ever visit from a Chinese medical team by meeting its airfares and accommodation costing up to K100,000.
“This is a first-ever private corporate sponsorship by a Chinese contractor to demonstrate partnership and cooperation that turned out to be a great success in the medical field,” Sir Julius said.
“The company demonstrated good corporate citizenship in its contribution of expertise in road construction in New Ireland and contributing further to bring medical experts to see and assess areas in the medical field.” At the dinner, Sir Julius discussed with the Chinese medical team ways to establish close cooperation on medical and drug administration assistance between China and New Ireland.
