Chinese group donates to police

THE China-PNG Friendship Association in Goroka donated more than K9000 towards the uniforms for members of the special police task force in Goroka, Eastern Highlands, yesterday.
Acting president of the Goroka association branch Sam Wong presented the money to Eastern Highlands provincial police commander ,Supt John Kale.
Kale thanked the group for continuing to help the police in their operations to maintain law and order in the community.
He said the uniforms would go towards the two task forces (Fox One and Fox Two) that are operating in the vicinity of Goroka.
“Other business houses helped in the past but the uniforms have worn out that they needed replacement … your support is timely when we members of the task force need uniforms,” he told Wong.
Kale called for support of the community in maintaining law and order, especially in assisting policemen do their constitutional duties to upheld unity and harmony.
Wong said Chinese businesses contributed for the force’s uniforms.
