Christian youth group hosting crusades

YOUTH members of a charismatic Christian group in Lae is working to change attitudes and give hope hosting prophetic shift crusades.
The Body of Christ runs the crusades which comprise of members from different denominations.
The group will be hosting 36 nights of crusades at 12 locations around the city starting today at Butibam-Gravel.
The crusade’s theme is “Let us rise up and build” based on the book of Nehemiah 2:18.
Senior Pr Sesere Kebei said society faced many social problems and people were struggling economically and spiritually due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
“We are seeing a lot of crimes and issues related to drug and alcohol abuse,” he said.
“When people are faced with all these issues, they forget about God.
“The crusades will play an important role in bringing people closer to God.”
Pr Sesere said the hope was that the crusades healed the faithful and fostered an understanding.
He said the crusades needed support from churches and local and provincial leaders.
The Body of Christ movement was established through the Lae ministers and pastors fraternity in 1991.
The crusades will be held on weekends at Butibam-Gravel, Bumbu, Busulum compound, Bumayong, West Taraka, Seventh Street in Town, Papuan compound, Buimo Road and miles 1, 5 and 9.
