Christmas ops going smoothly: Bawa

THE pre-Christmas operation for the National Capital District is rolling out smoothly with police conducting foot  patrols and road blocks  in the past few days leading up to the Christmas Day, NCD chief of operations Supt Andy Bawa said.
Supt Bawa said yesterday the first phase operation, Niupla Sindaun, involved more than 1,000 police personnel.
So far,  there have been no reports of major incidents.
The operation has four phases including the pre-Christmas and Christmas operations, technicalities and the winding down phase.
Meanwhile, Chief Supt Fred Yakasa said officers engaged in these operations were from the reserve unit, such as the officers at the administration, divisional staff, traffic and police band.
