Church agencies acknowledged for collaborative work

CHURCH agencies in East New Britain have been acknowledged for working in partnership with the government last year and assisting in the development of the province.
ENB administrator Wilson Matava said this during a combined district administration dedication service at Pilapila United church last Sunday.
Matava said churches had played a crucial role and invested in education from elementary to high school.
He said the church helped in the formation of society through its social and religious programmes.
“The provincial government’s focus is to foster the growth in its economic sector through inclusive partnership with churches and the private sector,” he said.
Matava said despite facing economic challenges on a national scale as well as law and order issues and adverse weather conditions, the administration and the church could do much to serve the people through development programmes and effective collaboration.
