THE Christian Revival Crusade celebrates its 40th anniversary in Papua New Guinea with members of the church from all provinces and from Australia, Fiji, Solomon Islands, India, Philippines and New Zealand.

The Bethel Tabernacle of Praise Centre, in Waigani, Port Moresby, hosted celebrations for the week starting on Thursday with the welcoming of pastors Barry and Rosalie Silverback.

The Silverbacks set up the CRC fellowship in the country and several slide shows of the humble beginnings of the church, with drama and dance by the children were features of the opening ceremony

The celebrations started last Thursday and ended on Monday, with the anniversary themed “Reviving and empowering our generation and beyond”.

The fellowship began on March 24, 1972, at Silverback’s home.

They held meetings at their Boroko home and when numbers grew, they moved to a classroom at the Bavaroko Primary School and then to the The Bethel Tabernacle of Praise Centre in Waigani.
