Nondugl Lutheran Renewal Church College in Jiwaka held its first graduation last Friday with 13 pastors receiving certificates.
The graduation was officiated by the Bishop of the Lutheran Renewal Church in PNG, Wilson Mark.
Bishop Mark said the graduation was another achievement of the church and urged the graduating pastors to continue the evangelization work left by Jesus Christ.
Mark said many people today needed the Word of God to stabilise the society.
“It is you (pastors) that will make a difference in society,” he told the pastors.
He urged them to make a difference both in spiritual and physical aspects of a human person.
“We play an important role in the development of this country and the onus is on us to evangelise in the true meaning of evangelization.”
College principal Emmanuel Waiye said the college’s greatest need was to develop its infrastructure.
He appealed to the national church and the local authorities to assist the college.
“It is an important institution that would benefit the province and the country.”
Waiye said they had struggled without student dormitories and other basic amenities.
He said with help from government and interested individuals the college be developed to the expected standard.
Waiye said evangelization was the way forward to develop the country.
