Church donates goodwill bags to settlers

Faith

THE ‘Let’s Fight Poverty’ advocacy of the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Cristo) reinforced love, concern and kindness in the local congregation of Port Moresby by conducting an evangelical mission and aid for humanity.
Last Sunday, the church led by the Australia-West (to which PNG belongs) district minister Brother Romeo Beltran, with Port Moresby’s resident minister Brother Regino Manangan Jr, visited Mosquito Street in Morata Settlement.
The church has also been visiting suburbs like Tokarara, Gerehu, Ensisi Valley and 9-Mile.
Truckloads of goodwill bags were donated to the settlers.
Br Beltran delivered a homily to more than 1000 settlers encouraging them to seek salvation.
He was moved and touched by the high poverty rate in those areas. Br Beltran did not just lead the distribution of goodwill bags for material needs, but also delivered gifts for their spiritual needs in a sermon.
Church members also handed out the church’s God’s Message magazines.
