THE Assembly of God church in Enga has been given a new church building and a pastor’s house built on a land given for free to the church.
The church building and pastor’s house were commissioned four days before Christmas.
Church members celebrated the opening at Sangasabes near Wabag town.
Leo Yari, a leader of the Aipape Awain tribe in Wabag, offered about three hectares of his land to the church.
“I and my family find nothing more valuable than our land which is our life to God all his blessings, we enjoying,” he said.
Yari said he had money, pigs and enjoyed a good life which all came from God.
“God is my source of life and I always remember this. I have nothing more important to give but this land on behalf of my families and tribe to the church to bring the word of God closer to my people,” he said.
Local entrepreneur Pisara Pambai also from the same tribe spent about K300,000 for the church building and pastor’s house.
“I thank God for everything he gave me,” he said.
