The Body of Christ (BOC) has started a 21-day fast and pray for the upcoming Apec meeting, says deputy chairman Pastor Michael Wilson.
The fast began on Monday and will continue to Nov 12.
The BOC comprises of mainline churches, Pentecostals, Evangelicals and Para churches in the country.
Speaking after a BOC meeting with pastors last week in Port Moresby, Michael said they would pray for a successful and a blessed Apec meeting.
“We would want to ask God to make it a successful, safe and a blessed Apec meeting for us,” he said.
“We would like to ask people around the country, both Christian or non-Christian, to humble ourselves during these 21 days.
“We would like to pray and ask God that his hands will be upon this nation and his presence will protect our leaders and the people who are coming to the meeting.
“We will pray for technical people, security, logistics and other important areas.
“Most importantly, we pray for our Prime Minister (Peter O’Neill) who will be the chair of the Apec meeting.”
