IGLESIA Ni Cristo, the Church of Christ, held a one-day crusade to share their belief and the teachings of the Bible with the public on Tuesday night.

The church is part of the Grand Evangelical Mission and hosted the public crusade at the Sir John Guise Stadium indoor complex in Port Moresby.

The church, which started in the Philippines on July 27, 1914, has become a globally-recognised church with congregations all over the world.

Erny Martinez, a group leader, said the church came to Papua New Guinea in 1997 and was based at the back of the Lamana Hotel in Port Moresby.

“The crusade tonight is much bigger than the others we held at the church and it is to share our faith through the Bible to all the invited people here tonight,” Martinez said.

“We have our visiting district minister from Australia Oceania, Brother Ranniel Serreno, who is leading the crusade and will be conducting Bible study as well.”

Serreno preached about the importance of the true church of Christ and the signs of the last days which were happening.

The Church of Christ has 140-plus members in Papua New Guinea and members abide by the strict teachings of the Bible, which is their main concern.
