Church in mourning

 MEMBERS of the Christian Apostolic Fellowship Church in Warakum, Mt Hagen, are mourning the loss of one of their laymen.

Francis Ropkil, 44, died after a short illness. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at his Wakbel village in Warakum.

Pastor Gabriel Bak described Ropkil as a Good Samaritan and a God-fearing man who was a dedicated servant of the church.

“It is sad that he has left his young family who need their father to raise them up,” he said.

Bak said Ropkil’s widow Christine was a church leader and they hoped she would carry on from where her husband left off.
