Church members need project updates

Letters

THE Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea has approximately 1.6 million church members nationwide.
Members of the church want to know the progress of some decisions made by the church.
Some decisions that demand explanations are transactions of Kambang Holdings Ltd, business arm of the church, the progress of the Lutheran university, Katagu Lutheran teachers college and illegal settlers camping on the church land along the Malahang road starting opposite the Martin Luther Seminary gate all the way to the Lutheran development services office in Lae.
As a church member, I do not really know what’s happening at the moment.
Are we doing away with Kambang Holdings Ltd for good?
Where are we with regard to Lutheran university?
When are we starting operations and enrolling students?
Lutheran church members’ children have enrolled at the Katagu Lutheran Teachers College in Bena, Eastern Highlands, mostly under the sponsorship of the Morobe government in line with the current Morobe governor’s education policy .
Have we registered the teachers college already?
There are many other matters that church members are not aware of.
We cannot continue to be kept in the dark.
Church members need to know what is happening.
Other churches have started universities and are in the process of being accepted by the Government and regulatory bodies.
Our wait appears to be too long.
I appeal to the church’s administration and those in authority to sit down and ensure plans are executed accordingly.

Siniwin Gisuwat,
Boana Lutheran Church
