Anglicans in Port Moresby will have a forum next month to create a ministry plan to boost the work of the church.
Bishop for the Anglican Diocese of Port Moresby Denny Guka, in a circular to parishioners, said that the forum would improve the coordination and management of various ministries at the diocesan level.
Guka said the forum would identify weaknesses and find new opportunities to expand the scope of services within the church and the community.
He said the forum would also assist the work of parish clergy ministries, parish ministry groups (youth and Sunday school) and general lay ministries.
The forum will be held at the St Martin’s Anglican Church at Boroko on July 16.
The following resources will be used for the forum;

  • The Vision of the Port Moresby Anglican Diocese as per the preamble of the Diocesan Constitution
  • Diocesan focus plan (2009 to 2011)
  • Short guide of the duties of church membership.

According to Guka the forum would discuss the creation of 10 committees which would focus on issues in health, education, property development and evangelism.
He said members of these committees would develop work plans to present to the diocesan council.
