MEMBERS of the United Church of Malaita Street, in Lae, raised K76,000 during its annual boubou (thanksgiving) Day.
The day was filled with cultural groups dancing and sporting events.
The Sunday school and mission station ministries sang and danced as they made their contribution.
Morobe circuit superintendent Reverend Piri Rahe said every good thing must come from God.
Rahe said they targeted K73,000 but raised K3000 more. “If we added our offerings and tithes, then it stands at K105,000,” he said.
“I believe strongly that all our churches can do better.
“It is up to each individuals member to commit to God and make sacrifices.
“The United Church is independent.”
Rahe said it was the spirit of the church members that helped build the church.
“All the infrastructure that cost millions of Kina for the church is funded by the members of the United Church,” he said.
