THE Faith Fellowship Church of PNG (FFCPNG) has set its foundation in Goroka with the receipt of land titles, church council chairman Rev Paul Eso says.
Eso said there was a ground breaking ceremony last week to launch its administration building. The events capped off a week-long national congregation conference which ended on Friday in Goroka.
Eastern Highlands provincial lands adviser Monigi Soga handed two lands titles to the church.
One was for the main church area and the other was for the church’s health services to build a facility at Kopi-Roots.
Soga thanked women and community development advocate Haga Eris for obtaining the titles from the Lands Department.
Eso received the land title for the church and Faith Ministry Health Services director Pr Olive Kolua received the title for the health services.
Former Eastern Highlands Governor Julie Soso presented K1,000 to the church and president of Mt Michael local level government (LLG) in Lufa district Alu Finimuto gave K1,000. FFCPNG senior leader Rev Rex Bulu said the church had a branch in Lufa district, Lae, Port Moresby and Chimbu.
“The church is growing and remains a strategic partner of the founding Faith Mission,” Rev Bulu said.
He said the church moved to Goroka in 1989 but the official opening of the church took place only last week.
Church members all over the country attended the national conference in Goroka last week.
