Church unites to prepare for Xmas

THE birthday of Jesus Christ is nearing and drawing preparations from all corners of the provinces to celebrate.
Christmas this year would unite all provincial United church and according to the Lae’s circuit youth leader, Robert Kopana, the purpose was to participate in commemorating the Lord’s day during the national youth convention which ends today.
Among the 11 regions that would be sending youths down to Milne Bay for the one week convention, Lae Cassowary United church sent 20 youths on Saturday to participate.
United church Morobe circuit youth and children’s ministry coordinator, Raymond Bunei, said the theme of the convention was “Bloom where you plant”.
Key note speakers for the opening ceremony were Dr Reverend William Nonga, Rev Bernard Siai and moderator Samson Lowa.  
The Lae urban team consists of 16 youths – 13 represented Cassowary, one from Taraka, two from Malaita church and four from outside town in Wau, Bulolo.
