THE Biliau Maus Rot Seventh-Day Adventist church members had a reason to sing and praise God recently – they launched their first gospel DVD called Altruism.

They staged four hours of singing to launch the DVD.

The church is located in one of the worst crime zones in Madang. But many who gathered there on Sunday had an indescribable feeling that God was moving among them in the settlement.

Billiau Maus Rot youth leader Peter Nara Sapi said the title Altruism meant”humility” or to be “unselfish”.

He said the album was a project funded by BMR church members involving Altruism singers, church choir, youth choir and the Threefold Truth singers.

It took three month to complete the DVD themed “Only Jesus can satisfy your soul”.

Pastor Robert Blake formally blessed a copy of the DVD to commission its sale.

Pr Blake shared Mathew 4:19-25 saying the text was about Christ’s teaching, preaching and healing ministry on earth 2,000 years ago.

He said not everyone could preach, teach or heal but would be ministering the Word of God through singing.

“I pray that many of those who watch and listen to this DVD can see and feel Jesus. May this DVD bring spiritual healing to them,” Pr Blake said in his prayer.

They have already started working on a second album.
