ABOUT 1000 young people attended a one-week camp in Kimbe organised by the South Seas Evangelical Church’s circuit in West New Britain.
Coordinator Pastor Paul Arozi said the events included soccer, volleyball and touch competitions.
The camp focused on the theme “Our downfall is a stepping stone to live a holy and serving heart”.
Said Arozi: “We used sports to draw youths and then we used God’s Word to change them.
“During the day they played sports and in the night we shared the word of God with them.”
Discussions focused on issues like drugs, alcohol, relationships and marriage.
“We also used this camp as an avenue to draw these young people to attend Bible schools,” Arozi said.
The camp was held at the South Seas Evangelical Hoskins Mission Station in Talasea district last week.
