Churches are the best healthcare providers and Government recognises that, says Health Secretary Pascoe Kase.
He said this during the memorandum-of-agreement signing between National Capital District Health Services and two partners: Salvation Army and Asia Pacific Institute of Applied Social Economic and Technical Studies (Apiasets).
“Church health services provide the best healthcare and treatment,” Kase said.
“Most people prefer seeking their services. The Government is partnering with them to improve our health indicators. People seeking health services trust and have confidence in church health workers because of their treatment and hospitality when diagnosing and giving them treatment.”
National Capital District Health Services acting health adviser Jerry Tanumei said the city was experiencing a lot of changes in terms of infrastructure, social and economic developments.
Amidst all these, he added, health remained a major concern.
“NCD Health Services has bestowed its confidence upon church health providers and private institutions to deliver health services,” Tanumei said.
