Churches get buses

FOUR United church congregations in the Moresby Northwest electorate have each received a new 15-seater bus, courtesy of local MP Michael Malabag.

The four are Poreporena Laurabada, Poreporena Lahara, Tatana Araira and Baruni. 

The churches are in Hanuabada, Tatana and Baruni villages.

Malabag, the Health and HIV/AIDS minister, said the buses were meant to help the churches and communities.

Malabag said water supply, health and education were among other priority areas his office wanted to improve in the electorate.

Each bus cost about K80,000 and purchased under the district service improvement programme funding for the Moresby Northwest electorate.
