Citifon handsets run out as demand soars

THE demand for the newly-introduced citifon mobile handset has surpassed the supply and its still growing.
Telikom PNG chief executive officer Peter Loko said: “The demand for our citifon handsets and mobile service is growing steadily and with this promotion, more Papua New Guineans will have a chance to get onto our network and enjoy our call and SMS rates at an affordable price.
“The ‘Say Yello with 2 for 1’ campaign will be running in Port Moresby and Lae only so customers are encouraged to make use of this promotion.”
Telikom sales staff had been busy this week sorting out handsets and modems for the “Say Yello with 2 for 1” campaign that was launched on Monday.
The promotion allows customers to get more value for their money by buying a citifon V26 handset and a V3 EVDO internet modem for only K129.
At retail level both products were selling for K129 each and with the campaign.
The V26 handset comes with camera, FM radio, MP3 player and an expanded memory up to 2GB while the high speed wireless V3 EVDO internet modem is equipped with a speed of up to 3.1MBPS.
The citifon mobile service is available in 38 centres across the country that has access to Telikom’s 3G network coverage.
With citifon, customers can also enjoy affordable internet rates at only 29 toea per Mb all day and all night.
Top-up for citifon can be  done by using the Rait and Telikad prepaid cards.
