WAIGANI Ira Lai’s will be out to prove in the Ipatas Cup challenge that they are not the bad boys as some have made them out to be.

Ira Lais aim to upset favorites White Haven Lagaip Brothers in the semi-final at Kaugere oval tomorrow.

The Waigani team coached by former inter-city player Andrew Andiki aims to secure a grand final spot to Lae.

Andiki, who has received some bad press lately, has prepared his young guns to upset the star-studded Lagaip Brothers. Their opponents are powered by big name players like Kumul Richard Kambo and Digicel Cup campaigners Pipi Kilori, Wallen brothers Nelson, Dickson, Robert Nande and Nicko Dom.

They are up against Benjamin Hetra, Isaac Wallen, Willie Mone, Ben Gumai, Ron Wak and Junior Rop who are determined not to hand the game away on a silver platter.

He said off-season games are totally different as the talents are no easy-beats at this level.

The Ira Laiis have settled the K3000 fine, and apologised to Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup officials, sponsors and supporters.

In the other semi final 6 Mile Storms play Gerehu Dep Eels.

The two winners advance to the CCIC grand final in Lae.

National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop and Sports & Pacific Games Minister Justin Tkatchenko are expected to witness the semi finals.

Governor Parkop will present the K40,000 to the Ipatas Cup management.
