City league gearing up for confederate trials

THE Moresby South Rugby League selection trials for the Rugby Football League Southern Confederation programme begin at the Sir Bill Skate Ova tomorrow.
League president Brown Murema said the U20, women’s and men’s sides will battle for 20 spots each in the three squads. “This is the only time opportunities are given to players to represent the league,” he said.
“We are confident of delivering the best teams to challenge the Port Moresby Rugby League’s U20, women’s and men’s sides.
“Our preparations are on target and we are ready to deliver.
“I thank Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko for being supportive of the league.”
NCDC Vipers coach Joe Sipa and PRK Gulf Isapea coach Colin Geno will be present at the trials to assess and monitor potential prospects for their respective franchises in the Digicel Cup.
As confirmed, the Southern Confederate trials for the women are on July 30- 31, U20 Aug 1- 2 and men Aug 3- 5, all to be staged at the National Football Stadium.
