THE Australian Federal Police have donated gymnasium equipment to the City Mission’s New Life Skills Training Centre farm at Mirigeda, Central.

The equipment will be used by youths at the mission to keep fit.

The farm is home to more than 170 men between the ages of 16 and 23 years.

The majority of them were taken from the streets in Port Moresby. The new life skills training centre is a rehabilitation programme  that offers young men there an opportunity in life through spiritual development.

They go through a 14-month ‘new life’ programme which focuses on rehabilitation spiritually, mentally and physically.

City Mission chief executive officer Reverend Ronald Brown, thanked the Australian police officers, saying it would help the youths in their fitness training.

A federal police officer said the gym equipment should help and enhance the youths with the physical aspect of their rehabilitation process during their time at the farm.
