City officials tour facilities

 THE National Capital District Commission will upgrade infrastructure in Port Moresby to prepare for important events such as the 2015 Pacific Games.

A fact finding tour by members of the NCDC executive management committee found that some public amenities, facilities and utilities in the city were in urgent need of upgrading and re-development.

“All these will be fixed in six to seven months to avoid hasty preparations for the regional and international events,” city manager Leslie Alu said.

Improvements will include the upgrading of the city’s drainage system, painting and cementing of footpaths and landscaping.
