City sewerage system needs upgrade

Letters

PORT Moresby’s sewerage system can no longer cater for the increased residential, commercial and industrial developments.
There is no sewerage network upgrade to cater for the density requirements of physical development. Sewage or waste water is now overflowing into the drainage system.
The open transportation of faeces, toilet paper and other waste with stink is overwhelming.
It is a disaster which has expanded significantly over the last decade.
The issue had been ignored and given little attention to.
The National Capital District Commission, Eda Ranu, Health Department and relevant stakeholders should convene to address this issue.
It is health hazard for residents and visitors.
When left unattended, this disaster is on its way to transforming ‘Amazing Port Moresby’ into the ‘Pekpek Capital’.
Aren’t you tired and ashamed to see human waste and inhale the foul smell everywhere in the city?
