THE Port Moresby Soccer Association is calling for an urgent club delegates meeting on Sunday at Telikom Rumana, Waigani.
Association president John Wesley Gonjuan yesterday told The National that the meeting was set for 2pm, and he urged club delegates to attend.
“This meeting is important for us as the executives will outline its plan for the remaining months of this year,” he said.
Gonjuan confirmed that his executives have held talks with the management of the Correctional Services training college at Bomana to secure the oval.
“We have already secured the oval and the PMSA tournament will run soon once everything is sorted out at the meeting on Sunday.”
The PMSA chief said it would be a tournament and not a competition.
“We will allow 24 men’s, 12 women’s and 12 youth teams (men’s only) to take part in the tournament.”
Gonjuan said details would be made available by him and members of his executive during the meeting.
He thanked the Correctional Services for their continued support to football.
Gonjuan said for the last two years, the association had major issues with venues to run a regular competition.
