City visit an eye opener for WHP rural youths

EIGHTY youths from the Lutheran Church in Mt Hagen said that a trip they made to the city had taught them the difference between the rural and city church.
One of the youths, Shirley Hanson, said they came from mostly rural areas in the province and working with youths from Port Moresby had taught them a great deal.
“Back home, we don’t use our time and money wisely where as in the city, time management and budgeting is very important as almost everything including church work entirely depends on money.” Hanson said.
She said youths in the city faced more challenges than those in the outside centres because of social influences.
The 80 youths also shared their experiences with their city peers.
Papua youth district coordinator, Jotham Ongi thanked everyone who made the group’s stay possible through their contributions.
