NON-Government Organisations and Civil Society Coalition partners have rejected Noel Anjo as their president.
John Kerenga Gugl, a founding member of the group, said they had sacked Anjo after he “compromised his position” by receiving gifts from politicians.
“As an activist, the trust given to you by the people cannot be traded for bribes,” Gugl said.
He said they had information that a politician had bought a vehicle and given money to Anjo.
Philip Kepan has been appointed as the new president.
Anjo, denying the allegations, said Gugl and Kepan were jealous of his leadership and achievements and were trying to tarnish his character.
He said the people making the allegations against him were “failed politicians who are trying to use the protests as their platform to contest the elections”.
