Clan queries transfer

 THE Sibib clan of Basamuk is calling on the Mineral Resource Authority and Ramu Nickel and Cobalt developers in Madang to explain the transfer of the commercial area.

Clan chairman Paul Pelpel Koii from Dein village in the Raicoast district of Madang said the proposed area for commercial development under portion number 22 was at Sibib. 

Koii said they were not informed of the transfer to Yalau plantation. 

Koii said many had spent much on the planning of the commercial area and the transfer to Yalau plantation would add another cost.

Koii said work had not yet been done on the land and transferring it to a different location was unfair.

Attempts to get comments from MRA and Ramu NiCo were unsuccessful.
