THE Divuni landowners in Northern have put aside their differences and allowed an Asian Development Bank-funded hydro power project to go ahead.

The ADB has given US$150 million (K340 million) for the project in Divune (Northern), Amazon Bay and Bialla.

The seven clans from Waju and the Gorari area of Kokoda district agreed that the project should progress as planned in 2010.

Clan leaders signed an agreement with PNG Power Ltd, witnessed by their lawyers and deputy Oro provincial administrator Tako Gwae.

PPL general manager, corporate services, Kalip Salo told the landowners earlier that the project would be re-located of they opposed it.
