PORT Moresby Suburban Rugby League club Marane K Rats recently received a boost from acting clerk of Parliament Kala Ouaa Aufa in the form of uniforms and equipment.
Aufa donated the set of uniforms, as well as training gear, including cones, balls and an esky valued at K3000 to the Morata-based Rats.
Aufa, a resident of Morata, said he was honoured  to support the youths.
“I hope this donation helps keep the youths occupied and involved in sporting activities,” Aufa said. Marane club president James Paul thanked the Aufa and commended him for taking an interest in his community especially the youth.
“This is a big help as we were struggling to buy uniforms and training equipment; it’s a godsend,” Paul said.
The Rats are the Suburban league’s reigning premiers. The club’s first grade side is unbeaten in the competition after six rounds.
