Clinic guards should be more courteous
The National – Tuesday, July 12, 2011
I REFER to the letter “St Mary’s rude and obnoxious guards” (The National, July 8).
Had I been in the same situation, I would have done the same thing to inquire whether the clinic offers after-hour treatment.
It is so disappointing to read about the unprofessional attitude of the two security personnel towards the parents.
The guards could have asked the couple what their problem was.
One of the roles of a security guard is to protect people and property of his employer and its clients, not shouting at clients and scaring people.
As a father-to-be, I would not appreciate and tolerate such mindless and senseless behaviour.
I wonder if either of the guards ever attended a course on how to relate to clients.
I would like to ask the two security guards what they would do if the situation was reversed.
What a shame.
