THE Government owned Kagamuga urban clinic outside Mt Hagen is to be reopened next week after being closed for almost five months.

A meeting between landowners, community leaders and executives of the Western Highlands provincial health authority resolved to open the clinic after issues which forced its closure were ironed out.

Locals locked its gates after they learnt that the authority had entered into an agreement with one of its health service delivery partners, Susu Mamas, to manage the facility.

They claimed they were not told of the change in management. They also feared that Susu Mamas, a non-government organisation, may charge high fees for the services it provided.
