Club 69 shuts doors

ONE of Lae’s popular nightclubs, Club 69, has closed its premises at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Indoor stadium.
The club has been using part of the premises belonging to the PNG Sports Foundation (PNGSF) without a lease agreement since the beginning of this year and tried unsuccessfully to renew its lease arrangement.
One of the reasons the PNGSF refused the renewal of the lease was because of the constant destruction of the property by drunks.
