ONLY three of 16 club presidents attended the Port Moresby Rugby League delegates meeting on Tuesday night.
PRL chairman Labi Amaiu and administrator Meke Maino were the only other parties there.
The poor show resulted in Amaiu ordering a K500 penalty be imposed on the absent clubs.
He advised match coordinators to refuse these clubs and teams onto the field for their matches should they not make any payment by this afternoon.
The lack of quorum resulted in the meeting on the running of the city’s league competition being called off.
The meeting was to have given an opportunity for clubs and stakeholders to express their views about operations and the season’s progress.
It was to have been an opportunity for the competition administration to update clubs on all areas of the competition.
Eda Ranu Dobo Warriors, RH Foundation Magani and BBE Hawks were the only clubs present.
It is clear administrative issues remain unresolved. Among those outstanding issues are differences among members about the state of the PRL facility and its management.
Members had expressed concerns over lack of progress of a facility upgrade that was to have started mid-year and its financial operations.
