MOROBE province has a lot of small farmers who need support, an official says.
The new chairman of the Morobe Primary Producers’ Cooperative Association, Reuben Yapi, said farmers in cooperatives needed help from the government.
“Morobe has no plantations,” he said.
“Morobe only has small farmers, and nd they need people to direct them and provide incentives that can support them.
“The association is to link all these farmers for better coordination so there can be benefits and assistance trickling down to them.
“Currently there are no training programmes for executives of cooperative societies to help them manage their businesses.”
