SOUTHERN Youth are happy with their progress in the Southern Conference of the National Soccer League (NSL) following Saturday’s 3-1 round-four win over Central Dabaris.
Youth coach Matthew Witu said their second win was another learning experience for his development side who were now ranked fifth in the conference.
“It’s not really about winning the game but rather motivating the players,” he said.
“To win a game was a bonus for us and I’m happy we were able to get it,
“But we’re still working on our combinations.
“We haven’t quite reached where we want to be with our combinations, so that’s something we will be working hard on.
“A lot of my players are villagers so this is a learning process for us.”
Meanwhile, Witu commended the performance of regular defender Martin William who shifted to the midfield for their match against the Dabaris.
