Coaches told to take course

CAPITAL Rugby Union (CRU) coaches have been warned to undertake World Rugby’s Covid-19 course on the sport’s “new normal” before the season kicks off this weekend.
CRU tournament director and Covid-19 manager Paul Joseph said the course certification was required to enter the match venue and coach teams.
“This course is basic and once completed, coaches get certified and can manage teams under our competition’s Covid-19 protocols,” he said.
“Once coaches complete the course, they have to submit a copy of their certificate to me and Papua New Guinea Rugby Union’s Sailosi Druma.
“This is necessary to start our season because we know clubs have been training for some months now and are eager to return to action.
“This season will just be for the premier division since we have just 10 weeks to run our competition so we’ve also decided that there won’t be any finals.
“So whoever finishes at the top after the 10th week will be declared the CRU champions for this season.”
