COASTERS Cricket club walked easily over the SNS United securing a six run victory over  the weekend to end this year’s seventh round of the men’s A grade cricket competition in Port Moresby.
Despite SNS United’s efforts of defending their 138 runs placing a 140 all out at 27.5 overs with leading wicket taker Kupana Amini, who took four wickets in just six overs, Coasters had the advantage with the bat.
Players such as Lega Siaka, who got out with 26 runs and Kohu Dai with 29 not out, gave confidence to the team who all contributed immensely with runs.
But it was the top order batsman that laid the massive foundation for Coasters to secure their easy win with three more players to spare.
Even though, falling in the middle order by the hand of Amini, Dai maintained a cool performance in leading the bottom order.
With just under 20 overs to spare and one run to win all hopes were on Amini to deliver some hope of a wicket however the ball was put short in front of Dai who smashed a six to call it a day at the Amini Cricket Ground.
In the other match, Raukele defeated KCC by four wickets causing an upset in the final round for this year.
Despite, KCC who are well known for having a very good batting line up against Raukele, they didn’t quite get the edge with about four of their good players missing out on the weekend’s action.
In hopes of defending the last 20 runs, KCC dropped a hanging ball just inside the boundary which proved costly for the lads and ultimately gave the game away to Raukele.
