Coca-Cola backs cultural show

COCA-Cola Amatil has returned this year as the major sponsor of the Mt Hagen annual cultural show to be held next month.The company had dropped its sponsorship last year when Digicel took over as the major sponsor.This year, the drinks maker returned with sponsorship of K35,000 and K5,000 worth of soft drinks.
Company Highlands regional sales manager Tobby Gabogi presented a cheque for K35,000 to the provincial event council members yesterday morning in Mt Hagen.
Gabogi said the company was happy to sponsor major cultural events in the province.
He said the cultural show brought unity, promoted culture and at the same time attracted hundreds of tourists.Show chairman Samuel Angimp welcomed the firm back as the major sponsor.
He said the sponsorship gave the company naming rights to the show.
Angimp said the provincial government had allocated K100,000 for this year’s show as it wanted to promote tourism at the provincial and district levels.
He thanked Daewon Trading for giving K20,000 and Farmset Ltd for K1,000.
The show will be held at Rebiamul rugby league oval from Aug 11-12.
More than 500 overseas visitors had already made bookings to attend.
