Coca-Cola, Digicel team up in new CellMoni promo

CUSTOMERS buying a 500ml bottle of Coca-Cola will have the chance of winning cash ranging from K2 to K1,000 in their CellMoni wallet.
This was made possible through a partnership between Digicel PNG through its CellMoni product, an electronic currency which turns a mobile phone to a mobile wallet where customers could save and receive cash, buy airtime and make payments by using their cellphone, and now with Coca-Cola Amatil PNG Ltd through its 500ml Coke beverage.
Coca-Cola Amatil PNG Ltd general manager Philippe Mondada said it was an exciting promotion and the mechanics were simple as customers who bought a 500ml Coke would have to peel back the label and find a 12-digit code that could be texted to 444 for a chance to win CellMoni.
“Participation and reward is instant,” Mondada said.
“We really believe that during the global pandemic, we are happy to come up with a promotion and delight consumers of PNG with this promotion, rewarding many winners to come.”
Digicel PNG chief executive Colin Stone said the promotion, through its product CellMoni, was a continuation of the work they do.
“For us, CellMoni is a continuation of what Digicel started when we launched here in Papua New Guinea in 2007, and that’s around connecting the unconnected,” he said.
“CellMoni is a way of helping the unbanked (population) become banked, helping them access financial services and improve financial literacy across the country.
“This promotion will distribute over K1 million in instant prizes across PNG.”
Coke PNG head of marketing Djamel Bencheikh said they had worked on the promotion for over a year. He said the aim of the promotion was to continue to have millions of Papua New Guineans be able to enjoy the rewards daily and also support their partners, customers and retailers.
Promotion will end on Nov 30.
