Coca-Cola distributes care packages to staff during SOE

Business

COCA-Cola Amatil (CCA) has given over 700 care packages containing staple foods, drinks and water to each of its staff to provide relief during the difficult Covid-19 impacted period.
The company said the care packages were also a token of appreciation to its employees for giving their best during the state of emergency (SOE) which was described as a tough business period.
General manager Philippe Mondada said the assistance would help alleviate some of the stress on employees and their families.
“The idea started out of the situation we had with the SOE which we had to work with only essential staff,” he said.
“We had about a third of our employees who stayed home and we were running the business with two-thirds of our staff since we are an essential business.
“We had to keep on producing for the people to get their water and other beverages.
“Those times were challenging times and everybody was discovering those different conditions and it was definitely not easy.
“So we said in those challenging times, we should stick together and help our employees because at the end of the day, they are at the frontline.”
“They are front-liners who wake up very early in the morning to come here and produce the products, water and other beverages to make sure that the country is well supplied.
“We basically looked at how we can make the situation a little more comfortable and give them access to some staples and basic foods which would be a nice gesture.
“Among all the things we did to make the lives of our employees easier, this was part of it to alleviate a bit of that stress for them and their family.”
Mondada explained that CCA had collaborated with other food and beverage companies who exchanged different products at a certain value which were put together to create the care packages.
