HOCKEY and football are finalising talks to restart activities at Port Moresby’s Sir John Guise Stadium with facilities inside the venue expected to reopen this month.
Stadium programme and events officer Rebecca Gini said the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) and PNG Hockey Federation were on track with their Covid-19 protocols to have competitions running soon.
“For Sir John Guise Stadium, we have the PNG Hockey Federation and PNGFA.
“We are still going through the Covid-19 protocols with the two federations on an agreed set of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
“So we’ve asked associations to go back to their federations and discuss their competitions and come back to us with their protocols or SOPs.
“The federations’ protocols have to be in line with ours if we’re going to allow competitions so that’s what we’re doing now.
“Once this process is done, we’ll allow the competitions to run.
“The entrance is at the Sports Inn gate which is one way in and one way out.
“Due to Covid-19 protocols, we do sanitising and temperature checks at the entrance and gates will open three hours prior to the actual kick-off.”
