Coffee group gets sawmill

A small group of Mingaimugl villagers in the Kerowagi district of Chimbu shed tears of joy when receiving a portable sawmill last week.
Community leader Bamna Penda was lost for words as handymen from the Apo Angra Angna Kange Coffee Cooperative started the motorised sawmill.
“Since I was a child and our two fathers passed away, we never ever thought that such machines would come to our village,” he said.
“I sincerely thank the management of Apo Angra Angna Kange Coffee Cooperative for giving us this golden opportunity.”
Penda said although they may have the smallest number of cooperative members, they would do their utmost to grow more coffee to raise their family unit income and improve their standard of living.
