COLGATE-PALMOLIVE has been awarded the inaugural good corporate citizen award 2010-2015.
The Department of Labour and Industrial Relations recognised the company’s contribution to the development of Papua New Guinea’s workforce via its recruitment and training programmes.
During the past 25 years in Papua New Guinea, the company has continually invested in improving the work performance of many of its local employees to that of global standards, and subsequently up-skilling and promoting many Papua New Guineans to key management.
General manager Jon Pittar received the award from Labour and Industrial Relations secretary George Vaso in Decmber last year.
The award acknowledged the company’s compliance with labour and immigration laws (particularly the Employment of Non-Citizens Act of 2007).
