College needs to upgrade fisheries dept

THE Finschhafen Community College in Morobe needs to upgrade its fisheries department facilities to help students.
More than 200 students graduated with certificates in various trades including 50 females. Two graduated with certificates in steel fabrication which took five years to complete.
Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister and Kabwum MP Patrick Basa is aware of the need for the school.
Basa suggested that college and the district education division work together on a submission for funding from his office.
“From the submission, we would know exactly how much is needed for the fisheries department in the school and that is when funding could be sourced,” he said.
Basa’s public relations officer Gabriel Jamine told the students that there were challenges ahead.
“Do not give up hope easily in anything you do but keep pushing on despite hardships and pain for a better tomorrow,” he said.
