Bring on 2020
Local rugby league fans will be keenly monitoring the progress in 2020 in the Australian NRL of Kumul stars Xavier Coates (Broncos), Daniel Russell (Cowboys), Alex Johnston (Rabbitohs), Edene Gabbie (Rabbitohs), Justin Olam (Melbourne Storm) and Lachlan Lam (Roosters). Great!
Another matter
The recent heavy rain in the capital city has really cleaned out the filthy stinking garbage (mostly discarded plastic bottles) dumped into the drains. Where it all ends up is, well, another matter.
Taxi rule
Colleague has made it a rule not to pay the taxi driver the fare at the beginning of the journey because more often than not, he will head straight for the nearest service station to top up. He cannot to do it on his way back, can he?
Soccer investment
A local soccer club is recruiting two young soccer players from a South American nation to boost their chances in the National Soccer League. Big investment, big risk.
Phone use
It will be interesting to find out the number of children in PNG who have smartphones. But in the United States, 53 percent own one by the age of 11. And 84 percent of teenagers, according to statistics, have their own phones. They immerse themselves in a rich and complex world of experiences that parents sometimes need a lot of decoding to understand.
Shower shock
Colleague yesterday was lathered up from head to toe in the shower when the water went off. Embarrassed to call for help, he felt his way around for the towel. He touched his shaver. Yell!
Thought for today
If someone treats you badly, just remember that there is something wrong with him or her, not you. Normal people do not go around destroying other human beings.
